FIREARMS

Firearm Transfers

Gary’s Pawn & Gun is a federally licensed firearms dealer. As such, among the services that we provide are transfers of both Class III and non-Class III firearms (ordinary handguns, rifles, and shotguns).

Whether you are purchasing a firearm online or want to conduct a person to person transfer, we can help.

Online Transfers

Step 1. The seller will need a copy of our FFL/SOT. If they don’t already have it on file, the easiest thing is to have them request a copy by email at:

garysguns1@bellsouth.net (Columbus)

garysguns2@bellsouth.net (West Point)

NOTE: We accept transfers from other licensed dealers only. NO EXCEPTIONS!

Step 2. Contact us by email or phone and let us know you are having a firearm transferred. Once it arrives and has been properly logged in, we will contact you.

NOTE: We have been blessed with a business that keeps us busy. Please allow us 24 hrs from delivery to get your firearm booked in and for us to contact you.

Step 3. Come fill out the Form 4473 and pick up your firearm.

For non-Class III firearms, Gary’s charges a transfer fee of $35 plus tax. If there are multiple firearms in a single transaction, then we charge $35 plus tax for the first gun and $10 plus tax for each additional gun.

For person to person transfers, the fee is $20 plus tax.

Class III Firearms

What is a class III or NFA item?

Any item that falls under the National Firearms Act (NFA) of 1934 is considered Class III. The most common NFA items are suppressors (silencers) and short barrel rifles (SBRs). Fully automatic weapons, i.e. machine guns, manufactured prior to 1986 are also considered NFA items. The Federal Government does require a $205 tax stamp ($200 for the tax stamp itself and a $5 handling fee) per Class III item.

Can I own a class III item?

Absolutely. If you can legally purchase a firearm in the state of Mississippi, you can almost certainly purchase an NFA item.

Class III/NFA purchase process

All NFA purchases/transfers are handled through our West Point location so you’ll need to pay us a visit in the Point City!

Here at Gary’s Pawn & Gun, we have paired with Silencer Shop to make the process as easy as possible.  They handle all the paperwork.  All you need is an account.

Step 1.  Once in the shop, we’ll use our kiosk to set you up with a Silencer Shop account including fingerprints and passport-style photograph.  We’ll also get you set up with the necessary E-Forms account.  The setup process is a one-time thing.  You only have to do it once no matter how many Class III items you purchase.

Step 2. We work to help you figure out the item that best suits your needs.  Or if you already know what you want, we find and order it for you.

Step 3.  We set your purchase up as a layaway with the cost of your purchase, the Federal tax stamp, and any trust fees included.

Step 4.  Silencer Shop handles your Form 4 submission so all you need to do at this point is wait for your approval email from the ATF.

Once you receive the approval email, all you need to do is come and pick up your item.

Class III/NFA Transfers

Gary’s will be happy to handle your Class III transfer needs. If you bought your Class III item from Silencer Shop there is no transfer fee. Items purchased from a vendor other than Silencer Shop will be charged a transfer fee of $100 plus tax.
